The Cheeky Monkey Media Blog

A few words from the apes, monkeys, and various primates that make up the Cheeky Monkey Super Squad.

I can hardly believe that we are through the first quarter of 2015 already. It is crazy how time really does fly when you are having fun!

Cheeky Monkey Media is off to a great start for the year. Sales have been brisk, requests are sky high and the dev team is firing on all cylinders. In an effort to keep you up to date, I thought I would share a few thoughts:

What is the plan for the Monkeys?

This is always a tough one to answer. In short, we want to be the best development shop that we can be. I know that sounds like a cop-out, so I will elaborate.

Our team right now is sitting at 14-strong. With a big focus on developers, we have 8 full-time developers and 2 more Monkeys that have the skills if necessary. I would love to see the number grow to 20 by the end of our fiscal year, which will be Apr.1, 2016.

For some industries, growing by 50% in a year would seem like excellent growth. But in the web development universe, especially Drupal, that is actually quite reserved. As I stated earlier, we are interested in being the best, which means only hiring the best.

Are you still focused on Drupal?

Absolutely! But, we have never worked on Drupal exclusively. Like most shops, we have had our hand in all types of programs, from Magento to WordPress. Having said that, we are one of the few shops where every one of our developers is a Drupal expert.

Add to this, our excellent relationship with the Drupal Association. Not only are we Supporting Partners, but we have also done a lot of work with the Association (from the Drupal Job boards to Drupalcon LA to the North American Drupalcon 2016). Clearly, it is hard for us to see a future where we are not heavily involved with Drupal.

Is there any place you can meet us?

Well, if you ever find yourself in the Sunny Okanagan, swing by our office here in Kelowna, BC. We also have a satellite office on the other side of the country in Snowy Moncton, NB.

You will also be able to find us at a few networking events in May. Treena and I will be attending the Collision Conference in Vegas, May 5–6. The following week, you will be able to find an entire team of the Monkeys in Drupalcon LA, May 11- 15. If you happen to be in Los Angeles that week, make sure you come by Booth #519.

If you need to get in Touch?

We try to be available for everyone, but sometimes it is best if we can route you to the right contact straight away.
