Classic Mistakes Made in Web Development and Design
July 30, 2013 / Treena BjarnasonNo web development or design project is going to go perfectly. There are going to be mistakes made along the process. But how you deal with those mistakes will say a lot about you as an individual and a company. Here are some classic mistakes made in web design and how you can avoid them next time.
#1. Priorities
Sometimes we get so caught up in the end product that we forget about the process and people involved. As you work on your awesome monkey projects, make sure you stay as cheeky as possible. Keep your priorities in check and the main development and design will come out awesome.
#2. Show them what’s up
Maybe you beat to a different drum than what your clients do. You need to be able to show the client how their project is coming about. You might be inclined to tell them. However, it’s awesome to be able to show them how their project is coming along. It puts a lot more trust in you and their project when you speak their language, instead of your own. Of course, showing them along the way gives you feedback that can help you in the long run!
#3. Keep them informed
Communication is huge in any business but especially in the Drupal or WordPress business. You have to keep in touch with your clients and let them know what is happening. The worst thing you can do is ignore them and not tell them what’s going on.
These are all important parts of making a web development or design project run smoothly. You do not want to do things only your way. Trust us, we’ve been in the business for a while.
