The Cheeky Monkey Media Blog

A few words from the apes, monkeys, and various primates that make up the Cheeky Monkey Super Squad.

Well, we’re two months into a pretty exciting growth spurt here at Cheeky Monkey Media. In less than 8 weeks, the company has grown significantly – two new Developers, 1 Creative Director, 1 Marketing & Sales VP. That means more desks, more noise, more fun, and a whole lot more cheeky.

There are some pretty great ideas bouncing around the office these days, from new and innovative design ideas to efficiency improvements to ambitious marketing campaigns. What’s even better than that is the amount of great work the team has been devoting to our client projects. February saw the launch of the Central Okanagan Hospice Association site, and work continues on some major projects that we’re looking forward to launching in the spring.

Good Times

From a team perspective, it’s an amazing thing to see. With 4 new bodies, a whole lot of opinions and ideas being offered, and all of the daily responsibilities inherent in providing our clients the best web design services we can give, it’s a wonder everybody in the office is still sane (does the “tamest monkey in the zoo” quote start to apply at a certain point?)

From top to bottom, the monkeys are staying cheeky and have fun with the progress. Really, what’s not to enjoy? But that really is the secret: we’re staying cheeky. It’s more than just our company name – it’s how we go about our day-to-day. In all seriousness (ironic), if you can’t be having fun doing what you’re doing, what’s the point of doing it in the first place? Oh, sure – that whole “working for a living” concept is very practical, but it can be a bit of a drag if the only reason a person sits at a desk is to toil for a paycheque.

Here in our zoo – at least to my eyes – it seems that we’re having a good time on a daily basis. That not only makes it easier for us to want to come into the office each day, but it also helps ensure that we’re pouring a constant, passionate effort into our work.

Think of it – do you want to work with people that are just waiting to leave, or do you hope to work with people that can’t wait to start?

The “Mantra”

In fairness, we’re not doing anything insanely radical from a business perspective. It just seems that each member of the troop has bought into one simple, straightforward concept: Stay Cheeky. It’s not a motto, it’s not a slogan – it’s a mantra.

At least, that’s what I say. I just like the sound of it. Mantra. Whatever.

In any event, feel free to use our “Mantra”. It works. Even better, let us know how you stayed a little cheeky today.

Heck, if your “cheeky” is better than our “cheeky”, then maybe we might just change our idea of “cheeky” altogether.

Really, it’s not like we couldn’t bounce another idea off the walls.

Stay Cheeky, Internet. 😉
