I have noticed a trend. Quite often when I am meeting with a potential client I get asked a lot of the same questions.
"Is your company really called Cheeky Monkey Media?"
"Geez, your kind of short" ok not really a question more an observation
"Drupal? what the heck is a Drupal and why do I need it?"
This is where I start going off in my traditional geek ramble. "Why it is the most amazing CMS in the world. It has the ability to create Content Types from the core install, making it easy to infinitely scale your site.." or with that addition of the Views module "I can easily create complex SQL queries in a quarter of the time without writing one lick of code"
I realized as the words were coming out of my mouth, and my potential client's eyes were glazing over. That what I was saying made little to no sense to them. What is worse. They didn't care.
And why should they?
People for the most part don't care HOW their products do what they do. Heck, some of them don't even care WHAT they do. But, just about everyone is interested in what the product can do for THEM.
So let's ask that question again… Why Drupal?
Here is our answer:
Drupal is a tool that we use to build a website. We like it and it makes the most sense to us. With it professional drupal developers like ourselves are able to deliver you a website that allows you to talk with your audience. And with a little training you will be able to control exactly how this process works.
So I am curious, what is your answer?
