I am completely covered in a “tech” rash since we last communicated. No matter how much I scratch and apply cream, I simply cannot stop the itch. I think I may be allergic to the lingo that is still flying around the office, and perhaps my chair... or maybe just sitting? What a strange thing to do all day. First days with your Drupal site

Congratulations! You finally launched your Drupal site :) I am sure that is a huge relief.. go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back. But, don't take too long because you still have some work ahead of you.

    Why is that?

    Getting started

I hate making assumptions so we are going to start out with the basics. In order to administer the Drupal site you are going to need to be logged in. Assuming you have a standard installation you may see something like this

Anyone who knows me well, understands that I have a large, paranoia style fear of water. Lakes, rivers, oceans, pools and waterfalls just to name a few. The first day I walked through the doors of Cheeky Monkey, I realized one very real, very terrifying fact. I was about to dive head first into the biggest pool I had ever encountered. The tech pool. A basic study of the world’s most accepted color.

The color blue, one of the 3 additive primary colors (Red, Green, Blue - or known as RGB) and one of the 3 subtractive primaries (Red, Yellow, Blue - or also known as RYB in the painting world) is the world’s most well accepted color. This really isn’t surprising, remember the last time you asked someone what their favorite color was? If it wasn’t blue - it was probably in their top 3. In contrast to this colors like yellow are typically love it or hate it.

Editor's Note: This post was originally published in December 2013 and has been completely revamped and updated for accuracy and comprehensiveness

The parallax effect in simple terms is when something in the foreground appears to be moving faster than objects in the distance. One of the earliest uses of this effect for entertainment are the older 2D video games that had objects in the foreground moving at different rates than those of the background, producing the illusion of depth.

Did you have a great Thanksgiving monkeys? I know I ate way too much turkey banana casserole! What about you?

Anyway, I am here to talk to you about content management security. Great topic, huh?

Recently Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security tested the security analysis on the main Web content management systems like Joomla, Drupal and of course, WordPress. They decided that CMS should not be run in its typical configuration. What, specifically does this mean?

It’s your monkey Wednesday news! Today I am going to talk about an interesting topic…are you listening? Have you ever looked at for the Obama administration? If so, you are probably having the same thoughts we are: Why didn’t they use WordPress to design their website? There are 14 states who have designed their own health insurance web sites and five of them have used WordPress. Of course, they aren’t perfect, but these web sites have run better than
