Drupal’s creator, Dries Buytaert says that Drupal 8, which will be released later this year, will be the “boldest release to date.”

What is going to be so great about it? Well, for starters it will contain elements of Symfony2Web framework. Drupal will be transforming from a content management system to a unified Web platform. With these platforms, companies can build Web based services for both internal and business web sites.

We as society have come a long way just in the past ten years. It used to be that companies didn’t have websites at all.

Like many Drupal development shops we have fully embraced the excellent Omega theme. As a responsive base theme it helps us efficiently turn out great Drupal sites.

The only thing that it is missing is built in support for Compass and SASS. I have been hearing rumours that the next version of Omega(4) will be adding this in, but in the meantime I am going to show you how to add them in about 5 minutes of time.

Have you ever heard of CKEditor? Well, come to find out; it has been chosen as the default rich text input method for Drupal 8. Those who have developed CKEditor are thoroughly excited about being picked as the default editor for Drupal.

Keep in mind that Drupal 8 has not yet been released. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2013. Again, Drupal is frequently being mentioned as one of the top open source content management systems out there.

Not everyone who sets out to be a designer or drupal developer is successful. While this is unfortunate, it also shows that there is a lot more to developing than just knowing how to work a computer.

If you want to be a successful website designer, then you have to have what it takes. Here are the main attributes of a successful designer or developer:

Once you have a website designed for your business, it is important that you work on its upkeep to ensure that it is attractive to the viewers. An attractive website will receive far more traffic than an attractive one,  and when people enjoy what they see on a website, they are more likely to spread the word about the website and what it has to offer. There are several useful tips for maintaining an attractive website, all of which will come in handy if you are the owner of a website.

When it comes to choosing font for your website, you only want to have the best. That's why Cheeky Monkey Media has taken it upon themselves to choose a few pieces of font that really help your website stick out.

--is a san-serif typeface loved by many designers and developers. It has a long history and has been long considered one of the best fonts of all time. Helvetica was created in 1957 by a Swiss man and continues to make an impact on the Internet.

If you follow our monkey ramblings, then you know we are pretty hardcore about Drupal. We can sit there and preach about why we think Drupal just makes a large difference in the life of a website, but we also want to show you the difference it makes. If you own a website, then you want the best content management system available. There are many reasons as to why Drupal is the best CMS system out there, but let us break it down a little for you:

It is great to see how fast the web designs are evolving these days. It seems that designers are pushing the realm of what is possible with each new project. Unfortunately, there is one thing that a lot of designers don't seem to realize. And that is as a web development company we are not always allowed to publish the fonts they used in their designs.

Why can't we just use anything?

Ok, disclaimer time, I am not a lawyer so if you want to confirm whether you can or can't publish ANYTHING to the web, please consult your attorney.

A request we receive regularly at Cheeky Monkey Media is “Can you develop a quick and simple Drupal theme based on provided the PSD’s?”, and instantly I smirk to myself. When it comes to developing a solution for a specific purpose, it can be quick but simple is usually the one which will catch either side with their pants down. More often then not there is more then meets the eye with these requests and there is a bit of a discrepancy between people's definition of a "theme build" and it's our job to ensure the expectations for the project is on the same page.

Drupal 7 has a great system for doing amazing things at the theme level, out of the box it lets you create templates to a specific page. The only draw back is it does this using Drupal internal paths and not the path alias. On the project we are working on we needed all pages which started with resources/ in their path alias to use a specific page template file.
