If you are looking to create a rich and dynamic web app that has little to no latency, Drupal and AngularJS is the answer as they go hand in hand. In this article I will show you a brief intro of what AngularJS is. There is a bit of a learning curve in this awesome architecture, but if you know some basic JavaScript you will be ok.

AngularJS is a front-end JavaScript framework for making web apps and is created by our good pal Google.

A few cool facts about AngularJS:

Coming up with a way to easily navigate and administer a Drupal site has always been a bit of a struggle. Usually, you’ve pleased the site builders and confused the normal site admins. Or pleased the site admins, but then caused the site builders to pull out their hair in frustration. We like to use admin_menu for site builders, and to use navbar as a nice and easy site admin toolbar. Admin_menu is great to give site builders quick access to almost every admin page there is.

Drupal web development is in high demand. Web sites are becoming more complicated and the use case scenario is always changing. It is not uncommon these days to have a website that is never finished, but instead is in a constant flux of feature requests and sprint completions.

This can lead business owners and leaders to focus on their internal team. Believing that building internally will save them time and money. Not to mention the ability to streamline projects and greatly reduce lead times.

Having a mobile friendly responsive website is always a good idea. Having a responsive website that loads really fast is even better. Large images are often a bottleneck and the cause of slower page load. A great way to solve this is to serve up different images based on the screen size instead of scaling a large image to fit.

I develop Drupal websites on Mac, so I usually don't have to deal with IE at all (since I use the excuse that I can't install IE on mac). Lately, I started adding IE testing to my skill set list and have been playing around setting up multiple virtual machines for browser testing. You can read my blog post here on how to setup any IE on mac.

Anyway, recently I ran into a very interesting IE11 problem.

I want to share my finding here and hopefully you can learn from my mistakes.

Imagine this scenario. You add three different blocks in your footer region and the mockups call for them to be side by side. Here are 3 ways to accomplish this Drupal design challenge:

Drupal 7 is by far my favorite CMS to date and Zurb Foundation is currently my go to theme. Although, I wouldn't really call Foundation a theme, but more of a responsive front-end framework that you can use to build your themes from.

Here is how to setup a fresh copy of Drupal 7 and configure a Foundation sub-theme quickly to get your project up and running:

    Install Drupal Using Drush

Although you can do this all the old fashion way, I prefer to use drush for this. Here are the drush commands to make this all happen:

Just a few warning signs to tell if you may be addicted to using xdebug:

A few weeks ago, I was pulled into a Non-Drupal project. As I was configuring the site to run on my local computer, I realized that I have been taking advantage of Drupal and Drush. I forgot how easy it was to import and export MYSQL databases for Drupal web development. If you're a Drupal developer and are not using drush to import and export your databases, you should. It will save you time, and it's easy.
