In the world of programming whether you’re working in Web, Software, Data etc. you’ve more than likely heard of being “ In The Zone“ or “The Flow”. This zone is a state of mind where you have lost awareness of your surroundings, lost track of time, forgot you have children and a mortgage to pay. This is somewhat a sort of meditative state where you solely concentrate on the work in front of you and nothing can stop you.

Back in August of 2014, I wrote an article Web Design Without Adobe Photoshop where I had finally decided to put the graphics giant, Photoshop, to the side and try some different tools for working with UI and Web design. I didn’t do this to be different, I really and honestly needed a more efficient way to design responsive layouts.

    When Writer’s Block Happens

Ugh – some days, it’s easier to put words on paper than others. As a person that spends much of his professional time writing (proposals, website content, marketing documents, ad copy), there are far fewer things more frustrating than the dreaded Writer’s Block.

After looking around for sources on Drupal vs ASP.NET it became clear there is a lot of tension regarding which is the superior platform. So, to avoid creating even more, I am just going to lay out the facts and let you decide that Drupal is the better platform.

My daughter loves baking. She will cook as well, but her true passion lies in baking.

Given that she is only eleven, I am incredibly proud of her culinary skills.

On a recent Saturday afternoon, she decided that it was time to make some brownies (one of my favourites). So, off to the internet she went to print out a brownie recipe. With this in hand she proceeded to hunt through the cupboards of our kitchen to gather all of the ingredients that she needed.

In the world of ‘typography’ where the printed page is sometimes classified as a work of exquisite craft (or even art if you ask some typophiles), there are a duo of villains known as the widow and the orphan.

The widow and the orphan are both careless remnants that can disrupt a page’s “typographic colour”.

Do you want to see what's the latest in modern web design? A new website for a new show is catching the eyes of all those who dare to take a peek.

"HBO presumably intended its Web site for Pied Piper — you know, the fictional start-up in the channel’s new comedy, Silicon Valley — as a cute tie-in to the show. But the site also doubles as something else: a perfect parody of modern Web design."

A basic study of the world’s most accepted color.

The color blue, one of the 3 additive primary colors (Red, Green, Blue - or known as RGB) and one of the 3 subtractive primaries (Red, Yellow, Blue - or also known as RYB in the painting world) is the world’s most well accepted color. This really isn’t surprising, remember the last time you asked someone what their favorite color was? If it wasn’t blue - it was probably in their top 3. In contrast to this colors like yellow are typically love it or hate it.
